When Montréal’s Boar God hang out in the darker corners of the room…Bring earplugs.

The walls shake. Eric Bent (guitar — riffs, leads, vocals) and Sean Zumbusch (bass, backing vocals, modular synth) have honed a sound they call ghost punk, which sits comfortably within the band’s influences of Noise Rock, Shoegaze, punk and metal while also leaning into more meditative, atmospheric passages. That harsh/calm dynamic gives Boar God’s music a relentless, dark allure, pulling you toward the next bleak and beautiful turn.

Boar God’s Hunting Season is the band’s sophomore full-length album, following 2019’s Forma. Hunting Season expertly brings down the roof with the band’s dynamic sonic plundering — waves of squalling guitars, that perfect crunchy bite, and dense, immersive noise that demands to be felt as much as heard.
