Petit Village Records is stoked to announce the release of The Wesleys “Explosive Device” EP! Explosive Device contains 4 new songs and is the follow up to the band’s 2024 S/T debut. The vinyl edition, pressed on green vinyl Pairs The Explosive Device EP with the band’s debut “Outside Voices” EP from 2022, remastered and available for the first time physically. This release also marks the band’s first international release with Spain’s Meritorio Records distributing the release in EU / USA.

It’s seems like so long ago we first heard the songs that would make up The Wesleys Explosive Device EP. It was an excruciatingly hot day in summer 2024 in MTL. The Wesleys were working on new material in their jam space by the tracks in St-Henri. They sounded exactly how you would want them to. The new songs were fresh, a little different than previous songs but still connected to what makes them great. The confluence of the heatwave and these new songs made sense. As the creative session went on, vocals duties shifted back and forth and instruments were swapped culminating in a fascinating look into The Wesleys creative process. With the physical result now in hand, looking back to that hot afternoon, the fact that we were a fly on the wall documenting it is a privilege. It was thrilling to hear the first batch of new songs following their 2024 debut and imagine a time these songs could be shared with listeners. We’re so stoked that it’s release day has come.
