HOORAY! “HOORAY FOR THE STATUS QUO” IS OUT TODAY!
“Things can go south pretty quickly, so waking up feeling the same as the day before can be pretty special; consequently, a reason to celebrate the status quo.”
Those were the thoughts that preoccupied MYAMM frontman Sakata as he wrote and recorded the songs that make up his latest EP, “Hooray For The Status Quo”. Themes of change, self-reconciliation, and the pursuit of calm permeate through the EP, as well as an appreciation for the process of music creation.
Petit Village Records is stoked to announce that today sees the release of Me, You & My Metronome’s latest EP, “Hooray For The Status Quo”. HFTSQ follows up from MY&MM’s 2024 “Red Pipes” EP, further building upon Sakata’s knack for dreamy DIY indie pop/rock bedroom anthems. It’s obvious that as this project grows, so too are MY&MM’s sounds, with the tracks on HFTSQ perhaps spilling out of the bedroom and through the walls for the neighbours to hear, reaching a wider audience while still holding onto that intimate charm. HFTSQ features the propulsive first single, “Embroiled in Meaning”, the emotionally meditative second single “On The Inside”, and the anthemic third single “Winter Solstice”, each song offering its own moment of quiet intensity and melodic payoff, further defining MY&MM’s sound.
