MTL’s Binoculars focus in on releasing their debut / final album “DAMP JUNK” in March 2026.

We’re stoked for Damp Junk!

Petit Village Records is stoked to announce that we will be releasing the debut and final album from Montreal's Binoculars. “Damp Junk” will release digitally on all the usual suspects in March with an official date coming soon.

Over the course of the last decade, Binoculars were a staple of MTL’s punk rock venues. Binoculars manifested a unique chameleonic post-punk that incorporated various sounds from pop to jazz, with perhaps a waltz in between. Binoculars encaspsulates that sweet spot where art meets pop with unhinged creativity.

If we had a time machine, we would drop BINOCULARS off in Athens GA circa 1979-1980, alongside The B-52’s, Pylon, Squalls and Time Toy for a rather righteous house party. Vernon LeCraw’s lyrics showcase the absurdity of the times we live in, his observations on technology, social media and one’s primal urges are universal.

“Damp Junk” contains 10 gnarly, fun and frenetic post-punk tracks that carry with them more ideas than most bands can muster in a career.

”Damp Junk” includes the singles “We R Not Memes”, “All Things Considered” & “Something Better”.

Tracklist: Whamp Skunk / All Things Considered / We R Not Memes / Lucky # / Gather Wood / Big Dark Cloud / These Things / Reinvent Yourself / Stuck In Between / … /

Binoculars are: Vern Le Craw / Nas Ganon / Jo Franken / Ed Scrimger
