Today sees the digital release of Poolgirl’s latest EP, “Still Not Getting What I Want” available on all the digital platforms.
Initial singles "Triple A" and "Money" both pointed a step forward in sound and songwriting for Poolgirl, along with the remaining new songs, "Still Not Getting What I Want" manifests the undeniable energy of the band's live performance, which has been gaining them a devoted following since emerging from Mtl's underground in 2024, as well as exposing the various sonic avenues this band have already started exploring. From Money's call and response urgency to Clean's disco punk groove to the primal gutter-punch of You Make Me Sick, Poolgirl manages to keep the music as sharp and as volatile as a switch blade cutting up some pretty sweet candy.
Recorded about a year ago by Sarah Harris at Le Chateau Deux and mixed and Mastered by Max LaJoie, this release demonstrates the momentum Poolgirl have been building since their their debut EP.
